Mrs. Smith's Bio
I am very excited to work with each of you as the LMS and LHS Assistant Principal for the 2018-2019 school year. I have been lucky enough to work with the amazing students, staff, parents, and community members of Lexington for the last three years, and I know that together, we will continue to be a great team for our students. That said, I would like to take a moment and tell you a little bit about myself, and the educational journey that led me to LISD.
I graduated from Schreiner University in May of 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and I accepted my first teaching position that same August. In 2006, I left the classroom to pursue a career in medicine, but after receiving my degree in Respiratory Therapy and completing a brief stint working at Hendrick Hospital, I discovered that my real passion was education. I made my way back to the classroom in 2008, and have been blessed to teach students (grades 9-12) ever since. My reverence for education is what motivated me to seek a Master’s degree from Schreiner University in 2017, and ultimately, that path (along with my devotion to the students of Lexington) led me to administration.
I have been married to the love of my life (Adam Smith) since June of 2006, and together we have two fur babies (Bo and Paisley), two adopted children, and one biological child: Cutter (5th grade), Colten (4th grade), and Chris (3rd grade). We live on a beautiful plot of land in Gause, where we raise cattle and-as of last year’s stock show-chickens. In my free time, I enjoy fishing with my family, chasing my children from one event to the next, traveling around the State of Texas, and reading.
I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we bridge the gap between home and school. We, together, can ensure that every student has opportunities to excel, while at the same time, helping them build positive relationships that will last a lifetime. Please do not hesitate to contact me anytime at email@example.com or (979) 773-2254 ext 3219 if you would like to be a parent volunteer, need help with resources for your classroom, or need help at home to support your child’s education.
